For Kids Only PDF Print E-mail

How do you teach you kids about American history?  If you want to teach them about the Constitution- how do you start?

We’ll be adding links and resources that we find along the way.  Many come from the homeschool community, and can be used by anyone.
Added plus- less TV, more time with YOU!

This is an incredible resource of interactive learning activities based on the Constitution.  Great mini summer project.

Here are a couple more US history resources - one for Veteran's Day and one for Thanksgiving. You'll need to get each of them very soon as they're only available for a limited time. They are free but you need to register at CurrClick, a homeschooling resource website. If you don't homeschool, it's OK, just use them as extras. Read the stories, use the coloring or activity pages as you wish!

As an Eastern European refugee and second-generation Holocaust survivor, I am always prepared to talk on the subject of freedom and democracy, versus tyranny and socialism.

Learn about Christmas in Colonial Virginia at the Colonial Williamsburg website. Then learn about Christmas even earlier with the free series of lectures featuring a speaker from the Hampton History Museum at various spots around the peninsula beginning Dec. 5:

I was just in Yorktown yesterday and they had a whole section of books dedicated to all subjects of our humble beginnings. Worth checking out the souvenir shop at Yorktown Victory Center.
