Why We Oppose Government Excess.
If you owed more on your credit card(s) than you earned, you know it wouldn't be long before your financial situation spiraled out of control. Our nations debt now exceeds our Gross Domestic Product (GDP) and if the spending isn't reversed, default may follow.
The Founders of our country would be turning over in their graves if they knew how far the government they created reaches into our everyday lives-our government seeks to regulate everything from toilet flushing to light bulbs-and they've gone far enough.

The Tea Party has always supported a strong U.S. Military but also one with well-equipped troops and a clearly defined mission to defend the United States against all enemies, foreign and domestic because many of our members are Veterans themselves.
It isn't that we oppose light rail, but we do oppose excessive cost over runs.
Light Rail in Norfolk is an example of the of fiscal irresponsibility we oppose.
We favor investment in great projects, but not government investing our tax money.
What happens if the project fails? Who is left bearing the cost? The taxpayers.
We support your right to ownership and enjoyment of your property.
We support the amendment to the Virginia Constitution that protects those rights.
